Even if 多用來表明語氣上的「轉折或讓步」，意思是雖然（或許）某事有可能是真的，但仍然不會影響結果，也就是中文的「即使，縱使」。Even if 與 even though 看起來很類似，但實則有些意義上的差別。Even if 英譯是 no matter whether、despite the possibility that 的意思，通常用來表達「非真實」或是「想像」的情境；反觀 even though 的英譯是 despite the fact that（雖然事實是），表達了真實的情況。
Example：
1. I like her, even though she can be annoying at times.
即使她有時候很煩，我還是喜歡她。
2. I'll get there, even if I have to walk.
就算我必須用走的，我也要到那裡。
3. Even if I become a millionaire, I will always lead a simple life.
就算我變成百萬富翁，我還是會貫徹簡約生活。
