被動語態
除了 be + 過去分詞 (p.p.)，我們也可以使用 get + p.p. 來構成較為口語化、不正式的被動語態。get 被動語態比較把重點放在動作本身或是執行動作的人事物上。例如， the image got passed around 中強調主詞 the image 以及過去分詞 passed around 的語氣，相對上來說會比 the image was passed around 來得強烈。另外，get sth + p.p. 雖也有被動意味，但比較強調的是某物的因「承受、接收」某動作而有了某狀態 (過去分詞)，此種句型中，get 帶有「使役動詞」的意味，翻成中文為「使得」某事物「被 ...」。例如: 1. The accident got Kyle fired. 「這意外讓 Kyle 被辭退了。」2. Please get the job done as soon as possible. 「請盡快將（使）這工作（被）完成。3. I feel like getting my hair cut. 「我想要剪頭髮（讓我的頭髮被剪）」。
Example：
1. There were blizzards overnight and the whole town got snowed in.
昨晚有好幾場暴風雪，整個城鎮都被雪淹沒了。
2. He got his bag caught in the train doors as they were closing.
當火車們要關的時候，他的包包被夾在門縫間。
3. He feels his paintings are always getting criticized.
他總覺得自己的畫作不斷被批評。
