關係子句
使用「關係子句」時有兩種情況，第一，清楚表明是在說哪個人或事物（限定性關係子句），此時關係子句中的 "who" 或 "which" 可以用 "that" 代替；第二，提供更多某人或事物的資訊（非限定性關係子句），此時關係子句前後需以逗號隔開。 "There are small clams, like these, which are often used for cooking." 提供更多這種小蛤蜊的資訊，如果我們把關係子句的部分刪掉，整句話原意不變。我們來看看其他例子：

1. This is George, whom you met at our house last year.
他是喬治，去年在我們家你見過他。
2. Terry, who had fallen asleep on the couch, didn't hear the doorbell.
泰瑞在沙發上睡著了，沒聽見門鈴。
3. The coat that I bought yesterday already has a stain on it!
我昨天買的那件大衣已經弄髒了一塊。
