名詞子句與關係子句：That
That 子句到底是關係 (形容詞子句) 還是名詞子句呢？ that 連接一個「名詞子句」時，這個名詞子句通常可並「代名詞」取代，也就是這個子句在句子中有類似名詞或代名詞的功能。 that 連接一個「關係子句」時，這個關係子句通常前面有一個名詞，又叫「先行詞」，關係子句會補充一些跟個先行詞有關的訊息，這個子句在句子中有類似形容詞的功能。
Example：
1. We'll be there at about 7.30, provided that there won't be too much traffic.
如果路上不塞的話我們會在七點半左右到那裏。
2. Can you give me a cast-iron guarantee that the work will be completed on time.
你可以保證這項工作會準時完成嗎？
3. I saw a boy that looked just like Harry.
