倒裝句
這次我們來看一種倒裝句的型態：Standing at just 2 feet tall is an adorable little cow that goes by the name Manikyam. 怎麼說這句是倒裝呢？可以注意，在這句倒裝句型中，我們以為是主詞的 Standing at just 2 feet tall 其實是補語 (主詞的補語可以是名詞片語、形容詞片語、副詞片語或介系詞片語等，補充說明主詞的狀態），而真正的主詞被移動到了句尾，最重要的是「主詞與助動詞或 Be 動詞的位置會互換)。這樣的倒裝句型具有「強調」或「簡約」的功能，有時也用來作「幽默」、「風趣」之用。這些幾乎是用於正式或文學式的寫作中，鮮少有用在一般對話之中。
