否定副詞倒裝句
英文中有許多「否定詞」，這些否定詞置於句首時，會形成一種倒裝句型。常見的否定詞有 not only、only、never、under no circumstances、in no way、seldom、hardly、rarely、scarcely 等。倒裝時，原句中的助動詞 (auxiliary verbs)，包含 be 動詞，會與主詞位置互換。
Example：
1. Not only did he turn up late, but he also forgot his books.
他不但遲到，還忘了帶書。
2. Rarely have I seen such a beautiful sunset.
我很少見到這樣如此美麗的日落景致。
3. Under no circumstances should you approach the man.
你無論如何都不應該聯絡那個男人。
