不定代名詞 one, ones
前文已提過的事物或東西，在後文中常會有省略的情形，其目的即是在避免用字的重覆。 例如： I have a few books on Chinese food. You can borrow one if you want. "Which cake would you like?" "The one in the front." 本單元中所談的 one 其實應把它看做是一種「可數名詞」的形式，不是嗎？所以別懷疑，就和其他的可數名詞一樣，這裡的 one 也有複數形，而它的複數形也和其它的可數名詞一樣，就是直接在其後加上 s 即可，也就是 ones。請接著看底下的例句：
Example：
1. Those croissants we had in France were so much better than the ones we get here.
我們當初在法國吃的可頌麵包比我們這裡有的好吃多了。
2. Please make a copy for everybody in the office and a few extra ones for the visitors.
請幫辦公室所有人印一份，並未訪客再多準備幾分。
3. The books you recommended are the same as the ones Pacey recommended.
