虛主詞 - There
「虛主詞」there 的目的是用來引出、介紹句子原本真正的主詞，句構為「There + be動詞 + 名詞 (真正的主詞) 」。There 可適用不同時態的動詞，例如 so many important things（複數），且敘述事項為一個事實，故虛主詞 there 後面會接現在式 are，變成 there are so many things...，而另一句則是表示未來式的句型，在 their 後面接的是助動詞 will be， There will be moments in your life...。要記住 be 動詞的格、數、時態會隨著後方的名詞與時間做變化唷。
Example：
1. There are other visitors besides me.
參觀人除我之外，還有別人。
2. There will be a sad look on her face.
屆時她會露出難過的臉色。
3. There is someone waiting for you at the door.
門口有人在等你。
