◇ Conditionals
條件句
所有類別的條件句型，第零類條件式主要子句 (以下簡稱A) 以及 if 從屬子句 (以下簡稱B) 都是現在簡單式，表示「事實、常理」，就像 if they stand and face the wolves, they have the advantage 一樣，說明一種經常性發生的事實。第一類條件式的 A 為未來式， B 為現在簡單式，表示「即將發生的事」；第二類條件式的 A 為 would/ could/ should 加上原形動詞 (也叫現在條件式)， B 則為過去簡單式，描述「與現在事實相反」的事件，也就是 If the buffalo strategy was foolproof there wouldn't be any wolves 這句；第三類條件式的 A 為 would have/ could have/ should have 加上過去分詞 (也叫過去條件式)， B 為過去完成式。
Example：
1. If Jess had asked me for help, I could have helped her.
如果 Jess 當時有和我求助，我就會幫助她。
2. If she were a bird, she would fly around the world.
如果他是一隻鳥，他要飛遍這個世界。
3. If it rains, the floors get wet.
如果下雨，地板就會變濕。
