複合形容詞
當我們想要用不同詞性的字，或結合兩個以上的字詞來形容事物時，我們可以在字與字之間，使用連字號hyphen（-）形成複合形容詞。之所以使用連字號，是為了讓文法保持正確，或避免文意不清的情形。本次我們要介紹的，是「名詞 +分詞」的複合形容詞。 先來看看影片例句： But still, bats do appear to carry more human-killing diseases than pretty much any other animal. 當中的human-killing diseases，也可以寫成diseases that kill humans，意為「致人於死的疾病」。human-killing是由兩個字串連而成，和形容詞子句that kill humans 一樣，擁有形容詞的功能。 In Malaysia, for example, the spread of commercial pig farms into bat-inhabited forests led to the first human outbreak―via pigs―of Nipah. 其中的bat-inhabited forests，也可以寫成forests (that are) inhabited by bats，意為「有蝙蝠棲息的森林」。bat-inhabited 是複合形容詞，和形容詞子句 that are inhabited by bats都一樣有形容詞的功能。 可以發現，當形容詞子句中，動詞是主動態時，則複合形容詞的分詞使用「現在分詞（Ving）」；而當形容詞子句中，動詞是被動態時，則複合形容詞的分詞使用「過去分詞（Vpp）」。另外，須注意複合形容詞中的名詞，會是「單數型態」。

2. I live in an English-speaking country.
