◇ Cause and Effect
因果句型
兩個比較進階，用來表達「因果關係」的詞語，Thus 表示的是「結果」，在多數情況下是可以與 so 互換的。例如 so far 我們可以說成比較正式的 thus far。而 due to 是用於表達「起因、原因」與 owing to、thanks to、because of、ascribed to 的用法相同。
Example：
1. The central bank has noted that overall inflation has been higher than expected, mainly due to a jump in gasoline prices.
央行已經注意到整體的通膨比預期嚴重，主要是歸因於油價暴漲。
2. The universities have expanded, thus allowing many more people a chance for higher education.
大學的數量增加了，因此使得更多人有繼續進修的機會。
3. The annual summit meeting has been canceled owing to the raging disease outlook.
這場年度最高會議，因為嚴重的疫情爆發而被取消。
