◇ Causative Verbs
使役動詞
使役動詞表示某人、事、物促使某事情發生、或從事某些動作，具有先天上的因果關係。最常見的使役動詞有 make、cause、allow、help、keep、have、enable、let、force 與 require 等。這類動詞後通常會有一個受詞以及「另一種動詞型態」。這個動詞型態通常會是「不定詞」或是「分詞」。像是 keep 後面通常會有一個受詞與分詞：keep sb doing sth。其他的會銜接不定詞。這個不定詞可以是「 to 不定詞」以及「零不定詞」 (bare infinitive)，零不定詞也就是沒有 to 的動詞原形。make、let、help、have 這四個動詞加上受詞後，後方的動詞的型態就是這種零不定詞。例如 researchers had ten men fast overnight，fast 是動詞，為禁食、絕食的意思。

1. If you wait, I'll have someone collect it for you.
如果你願意等一下，我會請人帶過去。
2. I feel that learning English will help me improve my chance of promotion at work.
我覺得學英語有助我在工作上獲得擢升。
3. Let your shoes dry completely before putting them on.
讓鞋子乾透以後再穿。
