進階被動語態
許多英語中的動詞，尤其是以「認知、情感」有關的動詞，多以被動型態（動詞型態為過去分詞）出現，例如：consider、base、identify、suppose、attract、define 、regard、deem、stun、appall 等。這些情況通常多半是：動作執行者的角色不那麼重要、也不會影響理解。例如 Asexuality is broadly defined as a lack of sexual attraction. 一句，是誰來進行「認定、認知」並不是重點，「被認定」的事物才是所要強調的對象。
Example：
1. Anyone who doesn't pay the registration fee by March 31 will be deemed to have passed on the offer.
任何一位沒有在３月３１日前繳交註冊費的人，都會被視為放棄這份機會。
2. He cares about a woman's looks, while I'm not physically attracted to women.
他很在意女性的外貌，而我不被女性任何肉體上感到吸引。
3. Aircraft are required by law to carry special electronic devices called transponders so that they can be identified.
按照法律規定，飛機上必須攜帶應答器，以便識別。
